2020 Leadership Retreat for Dentists

Leadership is a critical component to building a successful career as a dentist, yet we are not taught these skills in school. This can make leadership seem awkward and uncomfortable.

In this retreat, we will:

• Get to the root of what's holding you back from being the leader you need to be for your team, patients, practice, and life outside the office.

• Gain powerful awarenesses and insights about why you perceive and respond to the world as you do, and shed old beliefs that no longer serve you.

• Be inspired by the horses — beings who are known for their innate ability to model effective leadership.

• Participate in experiential exercises with the horses, where you will gain deep insight into your own leadership style, and practice new skills to be more effective.

You will leave not only a better leader, but more confident in your future path and free of old habits that have been holding you back from achieving your goals!

What You'll Gain

A Deeper Understanding

Leadership is a complex and necessary part of managing patients and team members. Our dental training, however, did little to prepare us for this critical part of our career. We will explore the virtues and pitfalls of leadership as a group so you can gain understanding of what it truly takes to lead a team and create a successful practice. We will also work together to create a plan for furthering your understanding and growth in leadership.

Insight into your Leadership Style — & Why it Matters

We are all individuals. Each of us has a unique preferences in the way we lead. As a group we will have many different leadership styles represented and we will take time to examine the strengths — and weaknesses — of your particular leadership preference. We will also uncover how to learn and understand your team's unique temperament preferences and how to promote cohesion even when there is diversity.

Breakout of Old Patterns & Habits

For most of us, our leadership skills — or lack thereof — are rooted in our past experiences. Many times old patterns that we are not even aware of impact our ability to function well as leaders. Through experiential exercises, we will explore the underlying and sometimes hidden things that make leadership a challenge. We will then learn how to overcome those challenges in a positive and healthy way.

"I am deeply committed to inspiring dentists who desire to achieve balance, peace, and prosperity within the challenges of working in a dental practice — or make peace with their decision to transition onto a different path away from dentistry. No matter where you are within your journey as a dentist, I offer you the opportunity to create a better present and future."

— Dr. Bethany Piziks

Bethany built a top-tier dental practice in Cadillac, MI, transitioned to a group practice, and then heard a higher calling. She left that successful, comfortable existence to build on her own life experience combining her two loves – helping others achieve their highest potential, and horses. If you’re one who believes all significant change begins within, you’re going to love your time with Bethany!

Today I realized that I am more in need of peace than I knew. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with & enjoy the horses. I was a skeptic at first and at the end of our session I am more in tune to my inner soul. I now know more of how to reach & see that inner spirit.
